Terhi Pietari: Leadership of the future - not just about management
Ugnė Karaliūnaitė, the journalist from DELFI, the largest news portal in Lithuania, interviewed Terhi Pietari, the Director of People and Culture at OP Corporate Bank. In her interview, they discussed irreversible changes in organizations, a new face of leadership, and the importance of cultural diversity and inclusion.

"Changes after the global COVID-19 pandemic have become an integral part of our daily lives, and one of the biggest changes in organizations is employees' desire to work flexibly," shared Pietari with her insights.
Flexibility often involves remote work. For human resources specialists, one of the biggest challenges is managing employees who choose to work remotely, as gathering teams for face-to-face meetings is important.
Pietari mentions that leadership nowadays means not only leading a team but also listening to employees' opinions and desires. Due to this, organizations are becoming less hierarchical than before.
"I hope that in the future, we will be leaders of people, where the individual is the most important. This doesn't mean that the tasks we perform will be insignificant. However, the times we live in now require us to listen more to people's needs," she says about how leadership should change.
